Pick up from your hotel or Riad in Marrakech at 8 a.m., then head for a lifetime journey with one of our experienced drivers/guides who knows Morocco like the back of their hand. Enjoy the breathtaking views and varied landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains, with their unique fauna and flora. Drive through the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2260m) before reaching the dramatic Ait Benhaddou Village.
UNESCO lists Ait Benhaddou as a World Heritage Site with many Kasbahs (Ksour), striking examples of southern architecture. Learn the historical background behind its foundation, the famous caravan route from Morocco to the Sub-Saharan lands, and the films shot here, such as Gladiator, Mommy, Lawrence of Arabia, Prince of Persia, Kingdom of Heaven, and many others.
After lunch, you'll continue on the track further south, crossing Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa), the palm oasis of Skoura, then the Valley of Roses with the possibility to include a short break to learn about this local produce before arriving at the Dades Valley, which is our final destination of today's journey. Overnight in Riad, including dinner & breakfast.
After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad in the Dades Valley, you'll resume your journey further southeast while including a short break in the impressive Todra Valley & Gorges (Canyons). The views of the Palm Valley, along with the canyons, are just stunning; you may want to stretch your legs while enjoying the views with the possibility to spot mountain climbers or the locals that are coming to this cooler to chill out & freshen up, escaping the heat, especially during the summer.
After lunch, which will take place near Tinejdad, you'll drive through Erfoud to the Sahara Desert of Erg Chebbi, where a warm welcome with tea will occur upon arrival. Now, it's time to saddle the camels up so you can ride and enjoy the miraculous view of the sunset atop the golden dunes. Then, to the desert camp, you'll have a likable dinner served in our tented restaurant or under the stars. Have time for entertainment before culminating the day with a relaxing sleep in your private en-suite tent or under the stars.
Early wake in the morning, you may want to climb up the dune to attend to the majestic view of the sunrise. After breakfast, you'll head north with a long drive through Erfoud, famous for the production of dates & the excavation of fossils, then to the impressive Ziz Valley, where you'll include a short break for taking pictures. In Midelt, we will have lunch, then include another brief break in the UNESCO-preserved cedar forest of the Middle Atlas, where you can see & even feed the endangered Barbary Apes.
Have another break in Ifrane, a little town in the Middle Atlas that was listed as the second cleanest city in the world in 2015.
