This 4-day Tour departs from Marrakech at 8:00 a.m. Our first day will be full of impressive landscapes and panoramic scenery as we drive across the plains and through the High Atlas Mountains.
Our journey takes us past many Berber villages, rugged mountains with winding valleys, and fields of fruit trees. We will make a stop for a coffee break in a picturesque place so you can take some nice photos.
In the afternoon, we will visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, where many well-known box office hits were filmed. Movie directors are drawn to this location because of its stunning landscapes, majestic kasbahs, and rich history. Ait Benhaddou was once an important stop on the old Salt Road, where caravans transported salt, gold, ivory, and slaves from the Sahara to the cities.
Next, we will head to Ouarzazate, often called the "Hollywood of Africa." It features several cinema studios and sets used in famous movies like Cleopatra. As we travel east to the Dades Valley, the landscapes will change, passing through Skoura, where you'll see its oasis and hidden kasbahs, and Kelaat M'gouna, known for its rose fields and production of rose-based cosmetics and culinary products.
We will spend the night in a hotel in the Dades Valley, where you can enjoy a traditional Berber meal and relax after a day full of adventure.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive down the valley to see the unique rock formations known as the "Monkey Fingers," found only in this area, and the remains of Ait Youl, a 19th-century adobe kasbah. Upon leaving the Dades Valley, we will continue to Tinghir and the Todra Valley, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the old adobe Berber villages that overlook the valley.
As we enter the Todra Gorge, you might spot rock climbers attempting to scale the 300-meter-high vertical walls. The river's crystalline waters add to the beauty of this memorable location.
Lunch will be along the way, and then we will drive to the village of Merzouga, where your camel will be waiting for you. You'll be welcomed with a glass of mint tea and a desert scarf before we ride by camel into the mysterious sand sea of the Erg-Chebbi. An experienced camel guide will lead this camel ride. We will spend the night in a luxury desert camp under the stars.
After breakfast at the camp, you will enjoy a camel trek back to the village of Merzouga. As the day progresses, you will be surprised by the unique beauty of the Erg Chebbi dunes and their ever-changing light. We will arrive in Merzouga late in the morning and, after a shower, stay in the guesthouse.
We will leave for Rissani, which is a very traditional Moroccan town. We'll continue towards Agdz via Alnif and Tazarine before arriving in the fascinating Draa Valley, where we will stay in a hotel at the edge of the Atlas Mountains, among hundreds of Berber Kasbahs and lush palm groves.
After enjoying a traditional breakfast, we will leave the Draa Valley and begin our journey from Ouarzazate to Marrakech. Along the way, you'll experience stunning lunar landscapes and panoramic views of lush oases filled with date palms, Berber villages, and rugged mountains, showcasing Morocco's diverse scenery. This region has been a popular filming location for movies such as "The Last Temptation of Christ," "Jewel of the Nile," and "The Mummy."
The winding road to Marrakech takes you over the High Atlas Mountains, passing through the Tizi n'Tichka pass at 2,260 meters. The road zigzags down to the plains below, eventually leading you to the vibrant red city where you will be staying.
